Giveaway Time!I !

I am back from vacation and I wished it would have been longer!  I really enjoyed the time I had with my family.  On our way home my hubby stopped at IKEA for me in Atlanta.  I wished I would have had longer to wonder around, but we were trying to get home.  The two things that I wanted to stop to get were both sold out. Boo!

I go back to school on Tuesday!  The kids come back the following Tuesday.  I haven't gotten much done on my To Do List and I may begin to stress out soon.  I know many of us are in the same situation.

While I was gone, I reached over 300 followers, so I am having a giveaway.  I am going to give away a $20 gift certificate to TpT because I know we are all purchasing many things to prepare for the new school year.  The giveaway will end on Saturday.  Be sure to enter!

My favorite Back to School Activity
is gathering all the new kids together on the carpet and starting to build stamina for Read to Self. They are so excited to become better readers and we really bond over this.

The first thing we always do is a scavenger hunt so kids can get used to the classroom.

Congrats on 300+ followers! I love the excitement in the classroom on the first day of school. I actually enjoy teaching the procedures and rules the first couple of days because we do it in such a fun way the kiddos forget they are showing me their best behavior and I can continue to raise the bar from there!

My favorite back to school activity is a power point I create about myself called Find the Fib or Find the Fiction. Students get to guess the Fib or the Fiction statement about me. They are surprised to learn so many things about me!

I love to have my kids put their last names in ABC order on the first day. This assigns them their number for the year, AND they get to practice ABC order on the first day! :) Plus they love coming up to the SMART board t drag they name over to wherever it belongs in order. :) Your vacation looked fabulous!!!! The water is SO blue! :)

Wednesday will be my first time doing the whole back to school thing, but I've heard it's important to do a lot of community building activities!
