EEekk! SPIDER!

Today my class took a field trip to the fair grounds to participate in "Down on the Farm."  There were 12 stations set up for our class to rotate through.  We learned about milking cows, goats, sheep, pigs, horses, growing crops, and other insects and animals.  Below is one station that literally made me shake in my shoes....

Yes, this is a tarantula on my head.  I cannot believe that I let the man put it there, but I did it because my kids wanted me to.

Here are some pictures that I took of some of the animals and the clown that put paint on our faces.

My life has been so hectic since school started...but I am so glad to be back in the classroom.  I hope to be back this weekend to post about things we have been doing in our class.

Who Is Ready to Win $50 Worth of Creative Teaching Press Products?

Are you ready to decorate and organize your class for next year?  I know most of you are just finishing up your current year and are excited about not thinking about school for a little bit.  I have been out of school for a week and I have not been able to shut off my school brain yet.... this is probably because I am taking grad classes plus the fact that I had to pack up my classroom - everything because our floors are getting replaced over the summer.

I have been looking through the Creative Teaching Press catalog and am very excited to decorate my classroom for next year.  Have you seen their new 2015 catalog that features two exciting new collections, Chalk It Up! and the Painted Palette collection. The great thing about these two new themes is that they compliment each other beautifully!

Did you know that Creative Teaching Press loves teachers.  They have been loving us for 50 years! This year Creative Teaching Press is celebrating their 50th anniversary. WOW!!  I am super happy that they asked me to team up with them for their 50th anniversary as one of the CTP Exclusive Bloggers!

Here are some ideas that I've been thinking about for my class:

I label everything I want to use these to label things such as lockers, mailboxes, book boxes, center boxes, etc.

Look at these cute mini-bulletin board packs that I want to incorporate into my class

I am a little obsessed with the Chalk It Up! Collection.  I want to bring in color by using items from the Painted Palette Collection.

I can't wait to layer these together!!
Instead of using the Chalk It Up! Collection for the calendar header, I want to use the Painted Pallet.
I want to incorporate these library pockets also.
